About

My name is David Jones, and this blog is about sharing my experiences with Digital Media from a personal, professional and educational perspective. Occasionally, I’ll also throw in general posts about myself and everyday life.

So why have I chosen the subject of digital media as the focus for this blog? Well, because it happens to occupy a lot of my time these days. On a personal level I am incorporating digital media and experiences into my everyday life. I use social networks, I spent my off time on the web, most of my music is now digitized, and I primarily communicate with others via digital mediums. On a professional level, I am a responsible for digital marketing within the global Services and Support Division of Microsoft. Does this mean I know everything there is to know about digital? Far from it. In fact, everyday is a learning experience in which I fail at digital more than I succeed. But is this significantly different from anyone else who is trying to figure out how best to utilize the digital ecosystem of today as part of their marketing strategy? Finally, within the context of education. I am currently pursuing a Master of Communication in Digital Media degree at the University of Washington in Seattle, Wa. I am a member of Cohort 9, which basically means I’m a part of the 9th class to enter the program since inception. As often as possible I plan to share insights from my course discussions, discoveries and experiences. Perhaps, you can help me expand my learning just by commenting?

I hope you will enjoy my blog, visit often and contribute when you see fit.

Cheers!

David
